Universal Design - Victorian State Government

The Brief.

We were commissioned by The Victorian State Government to produce a video about the introduction of Universal Design into the programs and infrastructure at Manyung School Camp in Mt Eliza.

In the video, we needed to first explain what is Universal Design and then, how it is being implemented throughout the camp. To us, the obvious way to do this was to let the people who are making the changes talk about their experiences, the opportunities and issues they faced.

As part of their commitment to the camp and Universal Design, The Victorian State Government funded the design and construction of a new high ropes course at Manyung Camp. It is not the usual high ropes course – it is a high ropes course designed for use by people of all ages and abilities to participate equally together.

We were also commissioned to produce a short video about this award-winning high ropes course for social media use. That video is below.

The Victorian State Government run Manyung School Camp in MtEliza. As part of the Governments drive to introduce Universal Design through many of their programs, Manyung School Camp under the guidance of their Manager Maree Feutrill and with the enthusiastic co-operation of the staff started on the journey to infuse the principles of Universal Design throughout the Camp and all their programs.
